It all started with a glance across the room at their friend Taylor's birthday party. Not long after, their friends and family decided to give fate a little nudge and officially set them up at Kevin and Tiana's housewarming party.

Kirsten had already heard plenty about Gordie thanks to some very enthusiastic friends, but she was a little hesitant at first... because he is three years younger, after all! Still, with so many people insisting it was a great idea, she figured they might be onto something and decided to take a chance.

That night, they talked for hours, getting to know each other and realizing just how easy it felt to be together. As the evening came to an end and Kirsten was getting ready to head home, Gordie went for what he thought was a grand romantic gesture and planted a surprise kiss. Bold move! Let's just say Kirsten made him work for it the next day with a few strategically delayed texts, while Gordie, out golfing with his buddies, was convinced he had completely blown his shot.

Thankfully, he hadn't.

Not long after, they planned their first official date at Laurier Dog Park. With Winnie and Tucker leading the way, they wandered the trails, talking and laughing the entire time. Neither of them wanted the date to end, so they just kept walking past sunset and into the dark until they realized they had absolutely no idea where they were. Somewhere in the river valley, they managed to find their way back. More importantly, they realized they had found something pretty special in each other.

Fast forward more than four years, and that first date turned into countless adventures together. From trips to Grand Forks and summers at Pigeon Lake to becoming each other's favourite travel buddy, celebrating becoming auntie and uncle for the first time, improving their golf game, and cheering on the Oilers together, they built a life full of laughter and unforgettable memories.

On the day they got the keys to their first home together, Gordie had one more surprise in store. In what would soon become their bedroom, surrounded by candles, photos, and memories from their journey together, he got down on one knee and asked Kirsten to marry him. And of course, she said yes!

From a chance meeting and a surprise kiss to getting lost in the river valley and building a home together, their story has already been filled with unforgettable moments. They can't wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you.
